“I have known [Dr.] Rachmilovitz since 2008 when we began a correspondence on a variety of topics relating to children and parental rights. I have read a number of her published works… [Dr.] Rachmilovitz is an extraordinary human rights advocate. She is the leading expert on the rights of transgender children, exploring crucial questions… As one of the leading scholars in this field, with her special focus on the rights of young people… she has brilliantly explored family dynamics around children’s sexuality, with a particular focus on their sexual orientation and gender identity, and the ways in which parents pressure children.”

“Orly applied for an appointment as a clerk at the [Constitutional] Court. She did not apply specifically for my chambers; I chose to appoint her as my clerk… Her input on gender discrimination and the intersection of race and gender in anti-discrimination and affirmative action law was influential in our Court’s Barnard judgment. Orly pushed for limiting principles in the Zimbabwe torture case, refining the judgment’s presentation of the law around South Africa’s [international law] duties. These suggestions were favorably received by the [Justices in conference]. I wholeheartedly recommend Orly Rachmilovitz for her outstanding contribution to protecting the constitutional rights of groups disadvantaged for race, gender, sexual orientation or gender disability.”

“Ines met Orly in Spring 2007 at a job fair at the UCLA School of Law, where Orly introduced herself and explained she had been assisting a professor on issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students in public education. Learning Rights had been interested in expanding its work to serve the particular discrimination and harassment faced by students because of their sexual orientation and gender identity. We were impressed with Orly’s deep knowledge of this niche area of law and hired her as a law fellow to launch and develop our LGBT project. During her time with us, Orly spearheaded the project… Orly played an instrumental role in getting Learning Rights’ services for LGBT students off the ground. Again, this is a very specific area of education rights law and there are not many “experts” to whom an organization like Learning Rights can direct questions or ask for assistance. The LGBT community’s legal needs are evolving in the context of a K – 12 education. [Our continued advocacy in this area] would not be possible without Orly’s work with us… Orly’s initial work laid out a roadmap of how we might increase the civil rights protections of this class of students to ensure that they are safe from harassment and violations of equal protection under the law. This seed of knowledge allowed us to obtain a grant... In light of the recent flood of legal news regarding, specifically, transgender students being bullied at school, Orly’s outstanding – and necessary – contribution to the equitable education of students regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity is obvious. As the only human rights advocate to emphasize the synergy between the two spaces, during her time with Learning Rights, and since, she has worked to develop strategies such as our school model policy, to encourage reforms in education and family law that would increase support for LGBT children both in schools and in homes.”

“I have had tens of tutors and editors throughout my academic career, and none of them compare to the level of quality that Orly provided me when helping me apply for law school. With her help, I was able to get nearly full-ride scholarships at Berkeley, Cornell, UCLA, USC, and many more top law schools! I was even waitlisted at Harvard and Columbia law schools, which I believe was a result of my high-level personal statement. She was able to take my personal statement to another level in terms of grammar, paragraph flow, structure, and even content. I felt like I was able to trust her blindly with my materials and did not feel ready to submit any application without her confirmation. Aside from the fact that she is one of the most responsive, quick, and professional tutors I have ever worked with, she is also one of the most personable people I have met and had the pleasure of working with. I have recommended her to many of my close friends, and even my brother who successfully got into graduate school at Columbia Engineering with her help! I will undoubtedly continue to full-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor and plan on working with her throughout my time in law school!”

“I consulted with Orly on my social welfare policy analysis term paper for my master of social work program. Her thoughtful and knowledgeable substantive suggestions and thorough edits improved the quality of my paper, no doubt contributing to my high grade.”

“I want to thank you for the work you put in this semester. I learned a great deal about the substance of health law. However, I also appreciated that your class challenged us on more just memorizing case holdings. Your discussion posts required us to think about political and social realities of many of the subjects we covered. This added dimension of practicality is something that is sorely missing in many law school courses, so thank you!”

“This class has been my favorite class I've taken during law school. It was challenging, yet rewarding. I have learned so much, and I feel like I was able to see my growth from the beginning to the end of the semester. I also was able to see some of my classmates' growth as well through our discussion board posts, which was an awesome experience. This semester has been so challenging, and I appreciate your support and kindness so much. From your emails to our Zoom meeting, you really helped me get through this semester.”
